Third Nepal International Film Festival: 13th to 17th Feb

The third Nepal International Film Festival is going to be organized from 13th Feb to 17th Feb in Kathmandu. The film fest is going to be organized by Nepal Film and Cultural Organization. A press meet was organized at the capital where Rambir Manandhar was the chief guest.

Altogether 80 movies will be screened in the film fest. Among which 10 will be international, 35 local movies, 5 Nepali films, 15 Nepali folk films, and 6 animated films.

The best film in the international category will get 1500 US dollar along with the Gautam Buddha award. Similarly, the best documentary film will get 1000 US dollars along with Mt Everest award, the best-animated film will get 1000 US dollars, the best local movie will get 500 US dollars along with the Bagmati award.

The films included in the festival will be judged by the team led by Bollywood director Prakash Jha. Similarly, Gauri Malla, Manjukumar Shrestha, Portuguese filmmaker Jao Paolo, and Singaporean filmmaker Uni Hadi are the jury members. Likewise, the documentary film and animated film will be judged by Srilankan filmmaker Anoma Rajkaruna along with Thibaut Frek and Karun Thapa. 

In the Nepali category, the best film will get NRs. 1 lakhs and the best folk movie will get 40 thousand rupees. The best director, writer, cinematographer, actor, and actress will be awarded trophy. Similarly, there's an event where Rajesh Hamal will share his journey in the Nepali movie industry.
