'Nepal Film Award' of NEFA Media Group

Majority of the Nepali award shows are criticised for running unhealthy competition. NEFA Media Group which is under Balami Entertainment has taken this issue seriously and has decided to conduct an award show where deserving candidates will be rewarded. The award show titled as 'Nepal Film Award' is going to take place after Dashain this year.

The award show is going to be conducted in association with Film Development Board, Nepal Tourism Board, and Kathmandu Metropolitan Office. The president of the organizing committee Mr Samir Balami declared that healthy competition will be conducted between participants. Likewise, the programme is believed to be of worth NRs. 2 crore.

The model of the award show is prepared among 21 film journalists.

The programme will be conducted in the assist of the provincial government, local government, regional government, and other governmental organizations in various provinces.

There are 5 categories in which the general public can vote for their favourite candidate in the list. Similarly, winners of 14 categories will be decided by the jury members, and one individual who has dedicated his life to Nepali film industry will be awarded with 'Lifetime Achievement Award'.

Each trophies will have 35 to 50 tola silver. The Lifetime Achievement Award will have 1 tola gold and will be awarded with NRs. 1,11,111. 

The categories of the award show are Popular Film, Actor, Actress, Male Singer, and Female Singer. Likewise, there are Best Film, Director, Actor, Actress, Debut Director, Debut Actor, Debut Actress, Supporting Character, Editor, Sound Design, Screenplay, Cinematographer, Composer, and Tribal Film.

The jury members for the show are director/ producer Akash Adhikari, director Fulman Bal, cinematographer Bishnu Kalprit, artist Sarita Lamichhane and director/ actor Anup Baral.

The award show will be conducted in the capital where a grand set of worth NRs. 50 lakhs will be designed. 

It is estimated that the programme will cost 2 crores if organized in Nepal and 5 crores if conducted abroad. Likewise, there will be more than 80 volunteers and security guards in the programme. Similarly, it will have the facility of internet. Additionally, the transportation facility will be provided to nominees, artists, performers, and filmmakers.
