I injured myself emulating Nikhil Upreti: Mahesh Khadka (Interview)

Mahesh Khadka is a busy and popular model. He started modeling a year ago and has already been involved in over a dozen music videos in the short time. Team Newspage3 caught up with him recently for a short chit-chat:

Newspage3: What are you busy with currently?

Mahesh: Music videos (Laughs).

Newspage3: What fee do you take for a music video?

Mahesh: Let’s not divulge the numbers but I'm doing okay with what I’m earning.

Newspage3: What is your long term goal?

Mahesh: I want to enter into movies. I’m preparing myself for the movies by acting in music videos. I want to establish myself as a movie actor.

Newspage3: Did you get family support in your journey to the field of entertainment?

Mahesh: No. My mother was and still is supportive of what I’m doing but that is all. Every family wants their children opt for abroad studies and mine was not an exception. However, I pursued this field as it was my ultimate desire.

Newspage3: What attracted you to this sector?

Mahesh: I was very impressed by movie actors during my childhood. I used to come back home with sprained feet while trying to emulate the stunts of Nikhil Upreti. This desire to be like the actors I loved pulled me into the sector.

Newspage3: Do you have any formal training in acting?

Mahesh: I took a three month acting course with Anup Baral at the Actor’s Studio.

Newspage3: How hard was it to get your first break?

Mahesh: It was very difficult in the beginning. Many directors gave me hope but nothing solid really happened. I started with small roles and slowly got the attention of music video directors.

Newspage3: Do you have a partner or are you single?

Mahesh: I haven’t met anyone special yet.

Newspage3: Your favorite food?

Mahesh: Rice, lentils and vegetables.

Newspage3: Favorite color?

Mahesh: Blue.

Newspage3: Favorite place?

Mahesh: Mustang.

Newspage3: Father or mother?

Mahesh: Sorry (laughs).

Newspage3: Girlfriend or friend?

Mahesh: Friend.

Newspage3: Winter or summer?

Mahesh: I don’t like both.

Newspage3: Dashain or Tihar?

Mahesh: Tihar.
