First Miss Nepal (1994) Ruby Rana alone has distributed immediate needs to support the earthquake victims. After the massive earthquake of 7.8 magnitude that took place on April 25th 2015 former Miss Nepal Ruby Rana started cleaning the Basantapur area. 

“After watching the destruction of heritage and building it really touched my heart and I wanted to do something for my country”, said Ruby Rana. She also added, “My daughter volunteered in cleaning campaign and that’s what motivated me to participate in this activities”. In the very first day, former Miss Nepal collected one lakh (Rupees) and bought relief materials to support the earthquake victims. Currently, she is being supported by many denizens and volunteers from abroad. “At first I have collected soap from my neighbor’s houses but now many people have joined me to help the earthquake victims”, said Ruby. She also informed that people residing abroad (Denmark, USA, Japan, Singapore and others) have supported them to provide immediate needs and wants to victims. 

 
Ruby has already distributed relief materials in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Sindhupalchowk and with the help of the helicopter she has provided immediate needs to people in Gorkha. Last week, their team was in danger because of the landslide that took place in Jiri. Reminiscing the incident Ruby said, “The house was destroyed right in front of my eyes and the driver had locked the door. We were nearly dead because of the landslides but fortunately we cracked the bus door and moved out to a safer place. I thought we were all going to die”.
