Award winning film-maker Kalo Pathi (The Black Hen) is one of the seven titles competing in the International Film Critics Week of the 72nd Venice Film Festival.This is the first Nepali film to participate in such a mega film festival which is to be held in Italy from September 2 to 12. This information was provided by Nepal Tourism Board on August 2nd 2015.

The director Min Bahadur Bam said that the story of two young friends with decade long civil war in Nepal in the back drop.  Similarly producer Tsering Rhitar Sherpa, expressed his ecstasy and said, “This is the big step for Nepali Film Industry”.

The movie co-stars Khadka Raj Nepali, Sukra Raj Rokaya, Jit Bahadur Malla, Benisha Hamal, Nanada Prasad Khatri, Bipin Karki and Pravin Khatiwada in the lead roles. The shooting of the movie is done in Mugu district of Nepal.
