In response to the devastation caused by the 7.9-magnitude earthquake that rocked Nepal on 25 April, donations have been pouring in from across the globe to help the nation's relief efforts. There were reports of Akshay Kumar donating money earned from "Gabbar Is Back", which hit screens on 1 May. The actor rubbished the rumours, saying he wasn't an authority on such matters.However, he is not the only one who's been a victim to such hearsay. Salman Khan too had to explain himself on social media.

"There are rumors about Being Human donating money for the Nepal earthquake. This is NOT TRUE as Being Human Foundation currently operates only in India," he wrote on Facebook. While Salman put the rumours to rest using a handful of words, Akshay went ahead with a lengthy post.

"Heard a rumour that I am donating ‪#‎GabbarIsBack's 1st day collections to the ‪#‎NepalEarthquake victims. Firstly I am not the producer so that's not my call to make and more importantly I don't need to wait for the film's release to do my bit. If you too want to lend your support here's the link --> https://www.facebook.com/nepalearthquakesupport," he wrote. Meanwhile, industry bigwigs such as Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan have urged people to donate, pray and help Nepal as much as they can.

Salman is currently in Kashmir shooting for Kabir Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan". Kareena Kapoor Khan, who plays a Brahmin in the film, will join the team shortly. Slated for 16 July release, it also stars Nawazuddin Siddique in a significant role.
