'Nepal International Film Festival' Starts

Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) has been officially been inaugurated. The festival was officially inaugurated at National Conference Hall on Thursday. Bollywood director Prakash Jha said that film festival is a feast to show talent. He is the main judge for the category of national and international feature films. He shared his 40 years of experience in cinemas. He added that he was born in the border of Nepal so he thinks that Nepal is his second home. 

The speaker of the parliament Agni Sapkota was invited to the program who delivered his opinions regarding the film festival. He told that films can promote the development of the tourism industry. Likewise, if the standards of the movie are maintained, it inspires the filmmakers to invest. 

The film festival which started on Thursday will last for 5 days and will be held at National Conference Hall and Nepal Tourism Board. President KP Pathak disclosed that film personnel from 40 different countries are participating in the fest. Similarly, he believes that this fest will help Nepali movies to be introduced into the global market.

Mr. Pathak added, "we have invited international personalities to discuss the situation of Nepali movies and the future digital platform and its way."

Similarly, legendary film personnel Nir Shah delivered a short speech during the inauguration program. He said, "the non-expressive movies should be discarded in the context of Nepal so that expressive films get values and respect. The festival can be a platform to fight against these kinds of non-expressive movies."
