'Golden Nepalese Film Festival 2076' Conducted Successfully

'Golden Nepalese Film Festival 2076' organized by Nepal Film Producer's Association has been successfully conducted. The festival was conducted on 7th, 8th, and 9th Nov at Adarshanagar Rangashala, Birgunj. There was huge participation of directors, producers, artists, technicians, writers, musicians, singers, distributors, presenters, and journalists along with Bollywood superstar Govinda Ahuja.

The ending program of the film fest had participation of legendary artists of the Nepali film industry Nir Shah, Basundhara Bhusal, Bhuwan Chanda, Laxmi Giri, Niruta Singh, member of General Assembly Pradip Yadav, mayor of Birgunj sub-metropolitan city Bijaykumar Sarawgi, the president of FNCCI Birgunj, etc.

The festival carried the motto 'Terai, Pahad, Himalko Utsav - Nepali Chalachitra Swornim Mahotsav-2076' which meant the festival 2076 is the festival which includes the celebration of all three regions Terai, Hills and Mountain. The fest where Honourable president of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari was the chief guest commenced on 7th Nov (Thurs).

There was performance of local artists as well as familiar faces of the Nepali movie industry.

According to president Adhikari, the main aim of the film fest was to promote talent, culture, and language along with the flourishment of the film industry. He also added the festival was organized in order to attract big national as well as international investors and make them invest in the industry which results in the betterment of the film industry of the country.

Likewise, he added "one of the major objectives of the fest was to promote Visit Nepal 2020. We have succeeded to bring Bollywood superstar Govinda with us here so this festival can be regarded successful."

Similarly, speaking on the concluding programme Mr Pradip Uday, the member of General Assembly (Province 1) said, "we are happy that the organizers conducted this beautiful event in the Terai region of the country. We want to thanks the organizing committee for that." He added, "the people of Terai will be more attracted to Kollywood if the culture, costumes and traditions of Terai are also featured in some of the movies."

Legendary actor Nir Shah expressed his sorrow regarding the situation of the Nepali movie industry although it carries 52 years long history. He kept his opinion that this is all because the movie industry has not taken diversities seriously like Bhojpuri, Maithili, Newari movie varieties can be provided to the Nepali audience. Furthermore, he said that organizing events like this at place like Parsa, Birgunj convinces and erases this problem. 

The three-day long festival had performances of local as well national artists, workshop from Indian cinematographer CK Muralidharan, films like 'Bulbul', 'Bhor' and 'Shatru Gatey' were screened and various film personnel were awarded.
