Dipendra Chaudhary To Coach Rekha Thapa's Team

For the first time in Asia, Nepal is going to conduct women's domestic cricket league. The tournament is named as NCL Women’s T20 Cricket League. Legendary actress Rekha Thapa has owned a team in the league. She will be handling 'Kathmandu Super Champions' who has national team's former captain Neri Thapa who will be leading her team.

Four teams — Biratnagar Roaring Lioness (Anup Saksena), Bhairahawa Queens (Anil Bhandari), Dhangadhi Wonder Women (Bimochan Upreti) and Kathmandu Super Champions (Rekha Thapa) — will take part in the franchise-based Twenty20 cricket tournament slated for April 20-27 at the Baijanath ground in Biratnagar.

Top two teams will earn one million rupees and Rs 500,000 respectively.

Eighty players were registered in the auction, out of which 13 players were selected by each team. Before this, four players were already selected to lead four different teams. National team captain Rubina Chhetry Belbashi is the marquee player of Bhairahawa, while vice-captain Sita Rana Magar will lead Dhangadhi. Likewise, former captain Neri Thapa is marquee player of Kathmandu and Karuna Bhandari belongs to Biratnagar.

The organisers had set the base amount of Rs 40,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 for grade A, B, C players respectively.

3. Mamata Chaudhary (Nrs. 75,000)

4. Ishwori Bista (Nrs. 15,000)

5. Rewati Dhami (Nrs. 50,000)

6. Sarita Magar (Nrs. 75,000)

7. Roma Thapa (Nrs. 75,000)

8. Suman Bist (Nrs. 50,000)

9. Kriti Sen (Nrs. 50,000)

10. Manju Kumari Bogati (Nrs. 50,000)

11. Laxmi Chaudhary (Nrs. 40,000)

12. Sima Thapa (Nrs. 25,000)

13. Gita Gosai (Nrs. 25,000)

14. Shanti Kumari Chaudhary (Nrs. 25,000)

Similarly, the team has appointed Dipendra Chaudhary as head coach.
