15th General Meeting of Nepal Film Producer's Association Conducted Successfully

The 15th general meeting of Nepal Film Producer's Association has successfully been conducted. The programme was held at Film Development Board on Saturday with the presence of Communication and Information Technology minister Mr. Gokul Prasad Baskota, vice president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Mr. Umeshlal Shrestha and the president of the association Mr. Aakash Adhikari himself.

During his speech, the president disclosed the facts and efforts he has made for the welfare of the association in his two years tenure. He included the betterment of Nepali Box Office, requests made to the embassies abroad regarding release of Nepali films in the respective countries, Film Project Insurance, importing foreign movies in inclusive system, development of film theatres, cinema halls in semi-urban areas, etc.

Similarly, the vice president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Mr. Umeshlal Shrestha assured that his organization is always ready to assist the Film Producer's Association. He praised the work and vision of Mr. Adhikari and promised him to help in ammendment and drafting of the rules, and regulations.

The counsellor of Producer's Association Ramesh M.K. Poudel donated Nrs. 2 lakhs for the development of the association. Minister of communication and information technology praised such activity of Poudel and said that the prevention of any organization can only be done with its development.

Many film directors and producers were absent in the programme. Thus, they were criticised. Likewise, director Kishor Rana was awarded by Shiva Regmi Smriti Film Award for his movie 'Manle Manlai Chhunchha'.

The general secretary of Producer's Association Mr. Roj Rana hosted the programme whereas senior vice-president Mr. Keshav Bhattarai delivered the welcome speech. Similarly, the collaboration of two divided Producer's Association was announced during the programme. Also, Uday Subba was appointed the new vice president and Bimal Poudel, Dil Shrestha, and Kishan Pokhrel were appointed as members.
