UNFPA praises Rekha Thapa's 'Malika'

Actress Rekha Thapa’s latest directorial venture ‘Malika’ is getting great responses from all quarters, including international organisations. The Nepal Office of United Nations Population Fund praised Thapa’s film with a tweet yesterday. The tweet lauded her effort in unmasking gender inequality and showing the impact of gender-based violence in Nepali society.
The film is made on the subject of gender-based violence against women, dowry system and child marriage. It features Thapa in the lead role alongside newcomer Kamala Oli.
