Anu Malik ousted from 'Indian Idol' after sexual harassment accusations

Musician Anu Malik has been disassociated from 10th edition of popular singing reality show ‘Indian Idol’ after being alleged of sexual harassments in #MeToo posts by four women. He was one among the judges for the show. Sony Entertainment Channel confirmed Malik’s removal via a statement and informed that it will soon come up with a replacement.
Singer Sona Mahapatra, Sweta Pandit and two other women have alleged Malik of sexual misconduct. He has refuted the allegations via his lawyer. He has told that he is taking a break from the show as he is not in a mood to work due to these claims. Lyricist Sameer has come to Malik’s support by saying that he was present during singer Pandit’s audition for the reality show and no such thing as she has claimed actually happened. Many celebrities, politicians and journalists have lately been named in #MeToo posts in India.
