Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan wasn't in Chennai when his 'guru' director K.Balachander passed away on December 23rd. Kamal couldn't travel at a short notice and wasn't there at the funeral either, on 24th. An important professional commitment for Uttama Villain, held back the icon in the US. He is now back to Chennai and reportedly is at KB's residence to pay his condolences in person.
