Box Office will be implemented in select theatres in Kathmandu Valley from Falgun 1. The preponding of the implementation came after a recent meeting of the Box Office Implementation Committee with the Minister of Information and Communication Mohan Bahadur Basnet. After much pressure from the producers, the Film Development Board (FDB) had recently agreed to bring Box Office to effect from Baisakh 1, 2075. Now, multiplexes in Kathmandu will see the systems installed from Falgun 1 instead. "These recent decisions have come as much relief to us producers. It will help maintain transparecy and will also help the govermnet in taxation efforts", said Producer's Association President Akash Adhikari. 
Moreover, Basnet has also verbally agreed to include one representatives each from Producer's Association and Film Association to the Censor Board. Basnet has agreed to hold further meetings relating the issue. 



Meanwhile, the Producer's Association has also submitted a memorandum  to the FDB, asking it to scrap its two year old directive which maintained that film director's should either have a filmmaking degree or must have a decade of experience in the industry. The controversial code of conduct also barred new producers, dictating they must have had prior involvemnet in the industry. "These are odd rules and they curtail creative rights of a person. Moreover, they bring forth a lot of complifcations", said Adhikari after submitting the memorandum. Board President Nikita Poudel said she will look into the issue as these are genuine demands.
