Director Dpendra K Khanal has refused to receive the award for his film ‘Pashupati Prasad’ at the recently held NEFTA Awards. Blaming rampant mismanagement in the award show, director Khanal didn’t even stand from his seat despite being called to the stage numerous times.

Dpendra was not satisfied with the fact that his ‘National Award’ winner film ‘Pashupati Prasad’ was only shortlisted for the Best Film Category but not in Best Director or Best Screenplay categories.  Although Deepak Raj Giri went to the stage to receive the award on his behalf, Dpendra still refused to accept it.

Even after the function was over his award was lying unclaimed on his seat. He said that it was against his ethics to take the award.

It was clearly visible in the event that most of the film fraternity was not happy with the decisions made at the NEFTA Awards.
