Rajkumar Rai, the president of the Film Development Board, is missing from the main event of ‘Ninth NEFTA Film Awards’ which is happening today at Dubai. His absence from the awards is creating quite a buzz in the film fraternity.

Pushkar Lama, the president of Film Technicians’ Association, is said to have achieved his current position with help from Rai. He was even brought to the fold of Nepali Congress in the initiative of Rai. In such a situation, his absence from the award function has led to many questions. Rajkumar Rai had been part of all three award functions held in foreign land in the leadership of former NEFTA President, Manoj KC.

It’s being said that the list of the actors and journalist who flew to Dubai for the show was prepared by Rajkumar Rai but he denies the rumor. Rai is said to be angry with President Lama because of these rumors which he claims to be false and it is reported that Rai feels Lama is only using his name in bad light while doing the bad works oneself.

The NEFTA Awards is falling into new controversy by each passing day. Questions have arised regarding the meaning of holding an award function in foreign land with so many controversies and negativities?
