President Ram Baran Yadav on Tuesday bestowed the National Film Award in eight categories on artistes who has shown an excellent performances. The award ceremony was held on Shital Niwas by National Film Development Board. Similarly, veteran actor Nir Shah was bestowed with “Chalchitra Dirgha Sadhana” award with a cash prize of Rs. 351,011 for his great contribution in the Nepali Film Industry. 


With President Ram Baran Yadav, Communication and Information Minister Dr. Minendra Rijal and Chairman of Nepal Film Development Board Rajkumar Rai handed over the eight categories of National Film Award to the artistes. The best film award was handed over to the film “Kabbadi” while giving the best director award to Nischal Basnet who directed the movie “Talakjung Vs Tulke”. Likewise, the best actor award went to Dayahang Rai for his role in "Sambodhan". 


Correspondingly, actress Richa Sharma and Sangam Shrestha was awarded with the  best actress award for their performance in the movie. Likewise, Ram Babu Gurung and Upendra Subba was awarded with the best script writing for the movie “Kabbadi” and best editor award went to Nimesh Shrestha whereas Shialendradwoj Karki was awarded as the best cinematographer for the movie “Zhingrana” respectively. 


Actress Sunita Budathoki Magar was also awarded for the indigenous and ethnic movie “Mathan”. Over 100 people were present in the program.
