Film technician Dhan Bahadur Shrestha lost his life in the harrowing earthquake of 7.8 magnitude that took place on April 25th 2015. He was injured during the tremor while trying to save his 98 years old mother. 

After the injury he was taken to Kathmandu Model Hospital in Kathmandu. He died while undergoing treatment at the same hospital. For past many years, Dhan Bhadaur Shrestha had worked as a chef in the film line. He lived in Sindhupalchowk with his wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters. 

The demise of Shrestha is a loss to Nepali theatre. Therefore, Nepali Artist Fund has decided to give 17 thousand (Rupees) for his last rituals to his family. Similarly, technical association has decided to provide relief materials to his family.
