The 2015 Nepal earthquake (also known as the Gorkha earthquake),which killed more than 7,000 people and injured more than twice as many, occurred at 11:56 NST on 25 April. Our country loss large number of people therefore the filmmakers of Nepal Film Industry is organizing a candlelight vigil and fundraiser for the earthquake victims which is to be held on Thursday. 

The decision of candlelight vigil was taken by some filmmakers. The program will be held this Thursday on May 7th 2015 at Pragya Prathisthan Bhawan, Kamaladi. All the filmmakers are requested to make their presence in white or simple dress. A massive earthquake has killed and injured many people who have lost their lives, family and households therefore the filmmakers of Nepal have organized this candlelight vigil and will remain silence for some moment. The earthquake which transpired on April 25th 2015 was massive compared to the previous earthquake of (1990 B.S. and 2045 B.S.). The death toll has increased to 8,413. People have who have lost their home are staying under the shelter tarpaulin. 

All the filmmakers are supporting to help the earthquake victims. Many of the filmmakers have donated relief materials, organized a health campaign and consoled earthquake victims.
