Nepal Film Directors and Film Journalist’s Association teamed up and organized a blood donation campaign on Thursday at Bhrikuti Mandap. The team of directors, filmmakers, journalist and artist instigated a blood-bank supplies in the capital for the victims of 2015 Nepal earthquake which killed at least 5800 people. 

Artists like Ramesh Uprety, Jharana Thapa. Aryan Sigdel, Namrata Shrestha have generously donated blood at Bhrikuti Mandap Blood Bank. However, some of the directors, artists and media personnel were not eligible to donate due to various health conditions. Director/Actor Akash Adhikari due to his illness and comedian actress Deepa Shree Niroula who was under medication, were not able to donate blood. While rest of the people had to leave with a sad face due to the traffic in blood storage area.

 

Along with blood donation, Nepali filmmakers were selflessly indulged as helping hands for the earthquake victims in the affected area. Environment sanitation, health camps, food distribution as well as giving financial support to cremate the dead bodies were some of the social work done by the Nepali filmmakers.

 
A strong (7.9) earthquake hit Nepal in the area halfway between capital Kathmandu and tourist town Pokhara. The earthquake caused extensive damage to buildings and dozens of injuries and was even felt in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
