According to information, in 2071 B.S. 86 films have been released. Among the 86 films, only 1 film claimed as a blockbuster movie whereas 4 movies became super hit. Similarly, another 4 movies came in the list of hit movies and another 4 were able to succeed in market. And rest of the other movies were considered as a disappointment or “Washout” in a filmy terms. However 2071 B.S. wasn’t a disaster compared to 2070 B.S. 

Blockbuster “Kohinoor”:
The movie ‘Kohinoor’ was awarded the Super Duper Bumper Block Buster movie of the year 2071. The last movie of actor Shree Krishna Shrestha, ‘Kohinoor’ is a story of love and dedication between the leading characters in the movie. The leading character Kohinoor (Shweta Khadka) is sold to a brothel of Mumbai City by human traffickers. Abhishek (Shree Krishna Shrestha) meets Kohinoor on his business travel to Mumbai. The movie is about the lives of Khoinoor and Abhishek. This movie became the epic success in the box-office. Actor Shree Krishna Shrestha has portrayed in many movies and out of those movies “Kohinoor” was an epic movie for actor Shree Kirhsna.  But unfortunately, he could not see his success of the movie. “Kohinoor” is the highest grossing Nepali movie till date which has received all together 6-7 million share from all over the world. Likewise, the movie ‘Nai Nabhannu La 2′ was awarded Super Duper Hit honor. Similarly, ‘Kabaddi’ and ‘Jerryy’ awarded Hit movie honors. The commercially successful movies of the year 2071 were ‘November Rain’, ‘ Lazza’ and ‘Himmatwali’. The movie that were selected for doing a breakeven businesses were ‘Tathastu’, ‘Stupid Man’ and ‘Punarjanma’.

Who is the Blockbuster Director?
If we look back to what has been said, director Akash Adhikari should be entitled the blockbuster director for the year 2071. Having directed many movies, Akash Adhikari have made his movie ‘Kohinoor’ a blockbuster hit. On the other hand, Bikash Acharya, director of ‘Nai Nabhannu Laa 2’should as well be considered the leading light among the directos of 2071. Not to forget, Ram Bahadur Gurung, director of ‘Kabbadi’, Hem Raj B.C, director of ‘Jerry’ and Nischal Basnet, director of ‘Talak Jung vs Tulke’ are as well smash hit directors for the year 2071. After the success of the movie ‘Himmatwali’, actress Rekha Thapa should also be added on the list of successful directors. Similarly, director of ‘Lazza’, Nawal Nepal, director of Novermber Rain, Dinesh Raut, director of ‘Birkhe lai chinchas’, Araj Keshav will fit into the list of successful directors of 2071.

Who Slipped off..?
In the year 2071, many promising directors slipped off. After many years gap, director Sambhu Pradhan did make a comeback with the movie ‘Rang Baijani’, but the movie instead turned black for him. Likewise director Suraj Subba Nalbo who had a pride that ‘whatever he touches turns into gold’ failed this year. 2071. His films couldn’t even make enough raise to buy salt. Likewise, for the previous year director Dipa Basnet was also taken as a flop director for the movie ‘Sri Paanch Ambare’. Daya Ram Dahal, Madan Ghimire, Rishi Neupane and other directors mvoies could not be successful. The average director of the year 2071 were Sabir Shrestha, Yogesh Ghimire and Sajan Shrestha. The New director Milan chamas of the movie "Hashiya", Arpan Thapa from the movie "Mukauta", Laxaman Subedi from the movie "Euta Saathi", Mure Kaar from the movie "Tandav", Laya Sangraula from the movie "Logne Manche", Bhaskar Dhungana from the movie "Suntali", Kumar Bhattrai from the movie "Utsav", Suraj Sunuwar from the movie "Jhasanga", Sabin Bastola from the movie "Sun Paani", Sandeep Bhupal Singh from the movie "Mala" were the successful directors of 2071. Simialrly the yopungest director of the world Saugat Bista movie "Love You Baba" did not do well in market but the youngest director was recgnized by Gunnies Book of World Record. 
 

 

Hit and Flop Actor:
 Actor Aryan Sigdel who is known as a chocolaty boy became hit actor of 2071 from his movie “Lajja” and “November Rain” but his other movie was not successful. Similarly, actress Shilpa Pokharel received fame from her movie “Lajja” compare to actor Aryan Sigdel. Likewise, Actor Jiwan Luitel films were also not successful while the actor was hit among the spectators.  Equally, actor Dayahang Rai was also really appreciated by his spectators. His hit movie “Kabaddi” made him a hit hero of 2071. Among all the actors, actor Saugat Malla has topped the hit list of the actors in 2071. Unhappily, his movies were not so good but his character has been appreciated by the viewer’s. 

 
 

Anmol K.C.:

Amidst many actors, one actor has succeeded in drawing the spectators to the theaters. Especially teenage girls have been charmed by actor Bhuwan K.C. son’s Anmol K.C from his movie “Jerry”. Talking about acting abilities, there is no urgency to praise actor Anmol K.C. However, it has been rumored in box-office that the film “Jerry” was hit because of Anmol K.C. charm. Although Anmol K.C. was appreciated by spectators but we should not forget our late Shree Krishna Shrestha who gave the blockbuster movie. Therefore, we have chosen late actor Shree Krishna Shrestha as a successful actor of the year 2071.
 

Priyanka Karki triumph: 

In 2071 in comparison to actors we came across many actresses in the film industry. And, talking about success “Himmatwali” actress Rekha Thapa has gained the popularity in 2071.  She is considered as one of the topmost heroine of our film industry. So, let’s talk about other actresses after Rekha Thapa. Similarly, another actress who has entertained her audience throughout the year is Priyanka Karki. She had a very busy schedule in fixing the date for her movies. Her hit movies of 2071 were, “Nai Nabhannula-2” and recent movie “Nai Nabhannu La-3”. Therefore, we have opted actress Priyanka Karki as a hit actress of 2071 B.S. 

 
But let us not forget about the blockbuster movie “Kohinoor” actress Shweta Khadka. Some week ago a premiere show of the movie “Kohinoor” was held in USA and many viewer’s came to see actress Shweta Khadka. If late actor Shree Krishna Shrestha is the top hero of 207q then actress Shweta Khadka is the top actress. Whereas, for actress Nisha Adhikari the year did not go well and she admitted her affair with cricketer Sharad Vesawkar. Similarly, actress Sumnima movies were not efficacious. However, actress Sumnina got married. Contrarily, actress Neeta Dhungana compensated her invested money from her movie “Bhool-Bhulaiya”. Correspondingly actress garima pant movies “Thuli” was successful because of the song and her other movie “Wrong Baijani” could not be successful. Actress namrata Shrestha also gained admiration but her own produced movie “Soul Sister” became a flop one. Nandita K.C., Keki Adhikari, Reema Biswakarma, Nishma Ghimire, Jenisha K.C., Rista Basnet, Harshika Shrestha, Puja Sharma, Shikha Shahi and others were only limited to recurrence. Not a single movies were released of Actress Jharna Thapa in 2071.

In 2071, we have witnessed many new artists. The new artists were Mala Limbu from the movie “One-Way”, Asshma D.C. from the movie “Aavash”, Akesha Bista from the movie “Zindagi Rocks”, Chandni Sharma from the movie, “Stupid Maan” and others. Instead actress Rishma Gurung has highly been appreciated for her role in the movie “Kabaddi”. Similarly, Actress Shilpa Pokharel also received fame and name from her movie “Lajja” which was produced by Chavi Raj Ojha. Similarly new actor’s beliefs were similar to new actresses. The abilities of actor Khagendra Lamichhane was observed from the movie “Talkajung Vs Tulke”. Rapper Ashish Rana could not come in lime light because of his flop movie “Tandav”. “Himmatwali” actor Sudarshan Gautam was also renown but because of actress Rekha Thapa.

The news related with her marriage with Bohara, 74, had been making waves for quite some time now.  Sharma and Bohara have known each other for many years as they used to work together at Nepal Police Club (the then Mahendra Police Club). Bohara’s first wife passed away about a year ago while this is Sharma’s first marriage. Out of many celebrity marriages this year, Shree Krishna Shrestha and Sweta Khadka’s marriage was considered inevitable. They had been together on-screen and off-screen since Sweta debuted in ‘Kaha Bhetiyala. The marriage ceremony was held as per Newar and Chhetri traditions at the Chabahil-based Hotel Himalayan Indreni amidst the presence of media persons and people from the film industry. The newly-married couple left for honeymoon along with the shooting unit of the movie “Kohinoor” which was produced under the Shrestha’s home banner. Similarly, after half-a-decade long affair, actor Aryan Sigdel finally got married to Sapana Bhandari. The marriage ceremony was held according to the traditional and cultural rituals. Likewise, actress Sumnima Ghimire also got married whereas Jharna Bajracharya gets married to Rahul Agrawal who is a Malaysian Indian resides in Kuala Lumpur and heads a family restaurant business. Correspondingly, Actress Richa Singh Thakuri got married to Australian NRN Gajendra Thapa and actor Resh Marathha got engaged. Actress Sweta Bhattrai and Prakriti Shrestha also got married.

In this post we are reviewing the Nepali movie personalities we lost in the year. The death of actor Shree Krishna Shrestha was a very unexpected and hurtful death in the Nepali film industry. Shree Krishna died within a month of his marriage to actress Sweta Khadka. He died a day after the release of his home production movie ‘Kohinoor’. Shree Krishna had an image of lover-boy and a good dancer in the movies. He was liked by viewers and colleagues. Both of his home production movies ‘Kaha Bhetiyela’ and ‘Kohinoor’ were super hit movies. The news of suicide of the popular director Alok Nembang also came as a shocking news. The most popular music video director and the director of some hit movies including ‘Sano Sansar’ and ‘Kohi Mero’.

All together 84 movies were released in 2071. And one film consist of four song and all together 3 hundred 32 songs were released. Among 3 hundred 32 song, not even a 10 songs were super hit. The hit song of 2071 were from the movie “Nai Nabhannu La-2”, “Kohinoor”, “Thuli”, “Birkhe Lai CHinchas”, “Stupid Maan”, “Himmatwali” and “Laaja”.

Many artist has made their come back in 2071. Actor Nikhil Upreti who got married to actress Sanjita Luitel and flew off to Mumbai returned to Nepal in 2071. Actor Nikhil has turned into Director now. Currently, actor Nikhil has directed an upcoming movie “Bhiarav”. Similarly, actress Sanjita Luitel came back in a movie “Nai Nabhannu La-3”. Similarly, she had portrayed in a movie “Khatarnak”. Likewise, she would be seen in her upcoming movie “Bracelet”. Similarly, Karishma Manandhar has also made her come back in film industry as a producer. Correspondingly director Mohan Niraula has portrayed as an actor in his movie “Janma-Bhumi”. Director Shambhu Pradhan also made his reappearance from the movie “Rang Baijani”. 

Neer Shah: A Man with a Multiple Identities: 

In 2071, Actor/Director Neer Shah faced some ups and downs in his life. The down part was Veteran actor, movie director and media personality Neer Shah was admitted at Gangalal National Heart Centre after he got a heart attack. He was kept at the CCU of the hospital. Fortunately, Neer Shah Health improved. In 2071 he was selected as the chief executive officer of Nepal Television. Currently, his directed movie “Seto Bagh” has been running in various multiplexes. Similarly Sunil Thapa also made his come back from Bollywood movie “Mary Kom”. Likewise, actress Garima Panta was awarded as an excellent heroine for the movie “Jhola” in SAARC Film Festival.

Overall, the year 2071 was of satisfaction and disappointment. It is expected that 2072 would be of great happiness and satisfaction in our film industry. There are so many awaited movies in 2072. Similarly, blockbuster Actor/Director/Producer Akash Adhikari two movies are scheduled to be released this year. However, the name of the movies has yet not been publicized.
