Nepali movie made on the love story of lesbian couple “Soongava: The dance of the orchids” has released its DVD. 

The entire unit of the movie organized a press meet in Kurva Thai Restaurant in thamel and released the DVD of the movie “Soongava: The dance of the orchids”. The film is directed by Suvarna Thapa and the movie was released in 2013 whose DVD version has been brought under the High Tech Entertainment.

The film “Soongava: The dance of the orchids” is an excellent movie which stars Nisha Adhikari, Diya Maskey and Saugat Malla in the lead roles.  However, the film could not be hit in the box-office but it got an opportunity to participate in seven International Films Festival. 

“This is a crucial film to be seen by every society’s member. Therefore we have released the DVD of the film”, said the director Suvarna Thapa. In the press meet actress Diya MAskey was spotted with her husband, director Anup Baral, Actor Saugat Malla however Actress Nisha Adhikari was not seen. 

 

“The market was good after the release of the movie loot but due to the YouTube craze and piracy of the video the market has fallen. And In the beginning we used to sale more than 10,000 DVDs but now it’s difficult to sell 2000 DVDs”, said Rajendra Manandar proprietor of High Tech Entertainment.

Manandar has also informed that due to fall in DVDs market they only provide copyright to some movies. He has claimed that he has made the DVD of the movie “Soongava: The dance of the orchids” up to the standard of international level. It is first Nepali film based on love story of lesbian couple.
