A South Indian filmmaker has completed the making of a high-budget Nepali movie – Bagmati. Written and directed by Sunny Kerala, the movie’s shooting was completed in the capital on Saturday.

At a press meet organized to inform about the upcoming project, The Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the production banner of the movie, informed that the mega budget movie took 45 days of shooting and is now headed for post production. Rajesh Hamal, Shiva Shrestha, Mukunda Shrestha, Dhruva Koirala and Keki Adhikari are among the lead roles in the movie.

Bijaya Satyal, the presenter of the movie, argued that it is the costliest movie ever made in the Nepali film industry. ‘Since the movie is not completed still, we cannot divulge the total cost of making it. However, if Nepali movies are made up to the highest budget of NRs 20 millions, we have spent a significantly higher amount than it’, said Satyal.

Dinesh Darshandhari, another presenter for the movie informed that all the technical crew and equipments for the movie was brought from South India.

Clearing market doubts by saying that ‘Bagmati’ is not a documentary, actor Rajesh Hamal added, ‘This movie presents a character as pure as Bagmati, diluted in the course of time, but whose heart still speaks of purity.’

Actor Hamal stressed that ‘Bagmati’ is presented as a metaphor in the movie.

Actress Keki Adhikari said it is a matter of pleasure for her to work with technically sound South Indian Directors and technical team. Meanwhile, Director Sunny said he has tried his best to make the movie in par with the taste of Nepali audience.

The film is scheduled to release on the first day of Magh, if everything goes as planned.
