Actress and former Miss Nepal Malvika Subba will be trying her hand in movie making after a long career in mainstream modeling and acting. The upcoming project, titled ‘How Funny’, was announced amidst a function in Lazimpat. Subba is the executive producer for the movie, to be directed by Nilu Dolma Sherpa. Sherpa, who also penned the story for the movie said, “I prioritize movies more than life. My movie will tell the story of friendship, hope and inspiration.”

Director Sherpa said the movie will not be a hostage of a specific stereotype but will be made focusing every group and class of people. Producer Subba said her affinity to Nepali movies made her jump into making this film.

 The ‘comedy’ movie will feature Dayahang Rai, Keki Adhikari, Priyanka Karki and Anup Bikram Shahi among other actors. Dayahang Rai, the comedy mainstay of Nepali movies these days, expressed belief in the movie being a super success.  Anup Bikram Shahi, who played a ‘villian’ in the movie ‘Hasiya’ said he will play a ‘serious’ role in the multi starrer. The actress duo of Karki and Adhikari expressed happiness at being cast differently in the movie.

The screenplay and the dialogues for the movie will be contributed by Shaan Basnet while the cinematography part will be taken care of by Hari Humagain.

The movie, which will be released within this year if everything will go planned, will go into shooting post this season of festivities.
