While he never completed college himself, Ed Sheeran will be receiving an honorary degree later this year from a university near his hometown.  University Campus Suffolk will honor the singer for his "outstanding contribution to music."  Ed, who left school at the age of 16, said in a statement, "I’ve had an amazing year with my world tour and this makes it even better. Suffolk is very much where I call home and I’m always welcomed back and get so much support.  Receiving this recognition is a real privilege...I look forward to building links with UCS and its students in the months and years to come.”

Ed is from Framlingham, which is in England's Suffolk County.  He's a big supporter of charities in that area, and has even brought his famous friends, like Taylor Swift , to the local pub for drinks.

The singer will get his degree during the school's formal graduation ceremonies, sometime this fall.
