The complete list of nominees for the 87th Academy Awards, the most prestigious award.  The selection seemed to be quite diverse, with some snubs, but lots of acclaim as well focusing on the excellent films from 2014.

The Academy selected a total of eight Best Picture nominee films,including: Birdman,Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Selma (!), Whiplash and American Sniper. The 87th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 22nd at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood with a live telecast airing on ABC starting at 7PM (EST) / 4PM (PST). This year's ceremony is being hosted by entertainer/actor Neil Patrick Harris.
